Our office has an open-door policy, which means all our patients and their parents, family and friends are welcome to come to the back to see what's happening. We do have a GameCube/Playstation in the reception room for patients or siblings to use to pass the time while they are waiting or after their appointments.
The thing that makes our office special is the friendly atmosphere we maintain throughout the day. From the moment you walk in you will feel welcome with a "Hello" from our receptionist, Kathy, to the back office with Missy or Angie helping find out how your day has been and finally with Dr. Siu, who always wants to know what's going on in your life. We strive to make your day brighter and to feel like you are special, because you are!
Next time you are in, be sure to share your latest and greatest achievements. We are proud of our patients because they have so many talents! From the athletes to the artists to the academics, we honor them all.

Straight talk with Dr. Siu
Some people wonder why Dr. Tina Siu and our staff at Siu Orthodontics work tirelessly to give our patients straight teeth. Of course it’s nice to have a smile full of evenly aligned teeth, but did you know that straightening your teeth at Siu Orthodontics can keep them healthier? Straight teeth lead to better oral hygiene, increasing your chances of keeping your own natural teeth for a lifetime!
Straight teeth are less prone to decay, because they collect less plaque, the sticky colorless substance that forms on our teeth and leads to tooth decay; and, they are easier to keep clean!
If you’re wondering whether your teeth might cause problems because they are out of alignment, please give us a call to set up a complimentary orthodontic consultation at our convenient office in San Marino. Dr. Siu can help you decide whether or not you will benefit from orthodontic treatment.
Questions? Give us a call at (626) 537-4170 or ask us on Facebook!

BOO! Braces-Friendly Halloween Recipes!
Last week, you may remember, we discussed October being National Orthodontic Health Month and listed a few foods Dr. Tina Siu wants you to stay away from this Halloween season, as well as during your time in braces.
All those sweet, sour and sticky candies may taste great, but these treats can damage your teeth and braces too! Did you know sour candies can be acidic to your teeth, and actually wear down the enamel that protects them? This can cause tooth decay and cavities!
Instead of candy, try these braces-friendly treats, courtesy of the American Association of Orthodontists.

At Siu Orthodontics, October is National Orthodontic Health Month!
We hope you're having a wonderful week! October is National Orthodontic Health Month, and our staff at Siu Orthodontics wanted to remind our patients to be careful when they bite into their treats this Halloween season. Remember, caramels, taffy, nuts, bubble gum, popcorn kernels and suckers are some of the foods you should be avoiding! Indulging in these foods can break your braces and lengthen your treatment time at Dr. Siu's office!
• Caramel
• Nuts
• Popcorn (including un-popped kernels)
• Taffy
• Jelly beans
• Hard pretzels
• Licorice
• Bubblegum
• Potato chips
• Ice
If you damage your braces, please give Dr. Tina Siu and our staff a call immediately. Typically, small problems can be solved by giving us a call at 626-796-0615. Loose brackets or wires can usually be made more comfortable by applying some wax until the you can come into our San Marino office.
Have a wonderful weekend!
